Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Welcome to Aiscern, a sole proprietorship operated by Anas Ali ("we", "our", or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our AI content detection platform at aiscern.com.

By using Aiscern, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our services.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account data: Email address, username, and password when you register
  • Content you submit: Text, images, audio, or video files you upload for detection analysis
  • Chat messages: Conversations with our AI assistant
  • Profile information: Any optional details you choose to add

2.2 Automatically Collected Data

  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, detection history, timestamps
  • Device information: Browser type, operating system, screen resolution
  • IP address: For security, rate limiting, and fraud prevention
  • Cookies: Authentication tokens and session management (see Section 7)

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Providing and improving the Aiscern detection service
  • Processing your submitted content through AI models to generate detection results
  • Maintaining your account and authentication
  • Storing your scan history for your reference
  • Improving our AI models and detection accuracy using anonymized, aggregated data
  • Responding to support requests
  • Sending service-related notifications (no marketing without consent)
  • Detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, or security threats

4. Content You Submit

Files you upload for analysis are processed by our AI models and results are returned to you. We store detection results in your scan history. Uploaded files may be temporarily cached for processing purposes and are not permanently stored beyond what is necessary for the service.

We do not sell, share, or use your submitted content for any purpose other than providing the detection service to you.

5. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We use the following third-party sub-processors that may process your data. Each is bound by their own privacy policy and data processing terms:

  • Clerk (clerk.com): User authentication, session management, and identity. Clerk never shares your data with third parties for advertising. Clerk Privacy Policy
  • Supabase (supabase.com): Database storage and API. Data hosted on AWS infrastructure (EU/US). Supabase Privacy Policy
  • Vercel (vercel.com): Application hosting, serverless functions, and edge delivery. Vercel Privacy Policy
  • Hugging Face (huggingface.co): AI model inference for text and audio detection. Inference API requests are not used to train Hugging Face models. Hugging Face Privacy Policy
  • Google Gemini API (ai.google.dev): Gemini 2.0 Flash is used as an ensemble head for text and image detection. Google does not use Gemini API inputs to train its models. Google AI Terms
  • Cloudflare (cloudflare.com): CDN, edge workers, R2 file storage, and D1 database. Cloudflare Privacy Policy
  • Upstash (upstash.com): Redis-based rate limiting. Only request counts and IP hashes are stored, not content. Upstash Privacy Policy

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers. A full Data Processing Agreement (DPA) listing all sub-processors is available at aiscern.com/dpa.

6. Data Retention

  • Account data: Retained until you delete your account
  • Scan history: Retained for 12 months, then automatically deleted
  • Uploaded files: Deleted within 24 hours of processing. This applies equally to files uploaded through Batch Analysis — all batch-uploaded files follow the same 24-hour deletion policy as individual uploads.
  • Chat logs: Retained for 30 days for quality and abuse monitoring, then deleted

7. Shareable Result Links

Aiscern allows you to generate a shareable link for any detection result. These links remain active for 30 days from the time of creation, after which they expire automatically.

Shareable links contain only the detection verdict, confidence score, and associated metadata (modality, timestamp, model version). They never expose the original uploaded file. Anyone with the link can view the summary result — treat shared links accordingly.

8. AI Assistant

The Aiscern AI Assistant is powered by third-party large language model (LLM) APIs. By using the AI Assistant, your conversation content is transmitted to the relevant third-party API provider for inference.

  • Retention: Chat logs are retained for 30 days for quality improvement and abuse monitoring, then permanently deleted.
  • No model training: Your conversations are not used to train Aiscern's models or any third-party models. All third-party LLM API providers used by Aiscern are contractually prohibited from using API inputs for training.
  • Do not share sensitive data: We recommend not submitting personally identifiable or confidential information in the AI Assistant.

9. Cookies

Aiscern uses strictly necessary cookies only. These cookies are required for the service to function and cannot be disabled. They are used for:

  • Authentication session management (Clerk auth tokens)
  • CSRF security protection
  • User preferences (theme)

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies of any kind. No cookies are placed for the purpose of cross-site tracking, profiling, or advertising. No consent banner is required because no non-essential cookies are set.

10. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, hashed passwords, row-level security in our database, and regular security reviews. However, no system is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Correction: Update inaccurate personal data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Portability: Export your scan history in JSON format
  • Objection: Object to processing of your data

12. Children's Privacy

Aiscern is intended for users aged 13 and older (or 16 and older in the EU/EEA under GDPR). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under these ages.

By creating an account you confirm you meet the minimum age requirement for your jurisdiction. If we discover that a child below the minimum age has provided personal data, we will delete it immediately. If you believe a child has registered, contact us at privacy@aiscern.com.

13. GDPR & CCPA Rights

EU/EEA Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the EU or EEA, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

  • Right of access — obtain a copy of your personal data
  • Right to rectification — correct inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure — request deletion ("right to be forgotten")
  • Right to portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Right to restrict processing — limit how we use your data
  • Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Right to withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting prior processing

Legal basis for processing: contract performance (scan results), legitimate interest (fraud prevention), and consent (analytics cookies).

Data transfers to the US (Vercel, Supabase US regions) rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). You may request a copy of the applicable SCCs at privacy@aiscern.com.

California Users (CCPA/CPRA)

  • Right to know — what personal information we collect and how it is used
  • Right to delete — request deletion of your personal information
  • Right to opt-out — we do not sell personal information; no opt-out required
  • Right to non-discrimination — exercising privacy rights will not affect service quality
  • Right to correct — correct inaccurate personal information

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Continued use of Aiscern after changes constitutes acceptance.
